Understanding Neurodiversity and Allied Health Supports - Parent information sessions

4, 5 and 8 April

We invite all parents and carers of Friends’ Primary School children to join Morgan Norris, our Primary School Psychologist, and other members of staff to explore neurodiversity and the allied health supports available for children and young people in our community.

Please note: This information session aims to provide general information regarding neurodiversity and allied health supports. We will not be able to provide individual management strategies for your child, however we can advise you of the next steps to take if you are seeking support or further information. We will discuss school-based supports (i.e., The School’s Access and Inclusion model), as well as supports available in the wider community.  There are a handful of tickets remaining across the sessions. Once full, no additional tickets will be released.

Year 1 Outdoor Education Excursion - Knocklofty Reserve

Wednesday 10 April

On Wednesday 10 April,  Year 1 will be embarking on a bush day to Knocklofty Reserve. Class teachers, learning assistants and Emily Ardas, our Outdoor Education teacher, will accompany the students on the excursion. We will be departing school at 10am and returning at 1.30pm. The aim of the day is to explore the local bushlands while developing relationships with peers. Students are required to wear their Physical Education uniform and sturdy shoes to walk in. They are also to bring a backpack with morning tea and lunch, rain jacket, water bottle, a warm jumper, beanie, sun hat and any required personal medication.

Chamber Music Concert

Tuesday 9 April |  6pm - 7pm

We are pleased to invite you to the Friends’ Chamber Music Concert at The Farrall Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to present music on a smaller scale in an intimate setting. Through this annual performance opportunity, students and audiences alike have discovered a lifelong appreciation for collaborative chamber music.

Absentees

If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Primary School Office (phone: 6210 2228, or email: primaryschooloffice@friends.tas.edu.au ) and the classroom teacher before 9.00am. We appreciate your support in this process.
