Year 2 Prayer Celebration

Year 2 will be leading the Infants Prayer Celebration this Friday, 24 May at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church. All are welcome to attend the Mass on Friday.

Friday is the feast day of Mary, Help of Christians and has been celebrated in Australia since 1844. The young church in Australia had a special reason for turning to Mary. No priests were sent to the colony in its early days and Mass was not allowed except for one brief year until 1820. It was largely the Rosary in those early days that kept the faith alive. Catholic Australia remained faithful to Mary and was the first nation to choose her under the title Help of Christians, as their national Patroness.

Trinity Sunday

As we, the Holy Trinity school community, approach the celebration of our patronal feast, it is an opportunity for us to reflect on the significance of our school’s namesake—the Holy Trinity. Embedded in the rich tradition of the Catholic faith, the Feast of the Holy Trinity serves as a reminder of our identity and mission as a school community.

The Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—embodies the essence of divine unity, love, and relationship. In this mystery of faith, we encounter God as a communion of persons, united in love and purpose. As a school named after the Holy Trinity, we are called to mirror this divine unity and love in our interactions with one another and in our pursuit of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and service to others.

Just as the three persons of the Trinity are distinct yet inseparable, so too are we, the members of the Holy Trinity school community, called to embrace our unique gifts and talents while remaining united in our shared mission of learning, faith, and service.

The Feast of the Holy Trinity invites us to deepen our understanding of God’s triune nature and to reflect on this mystery for our lives as students, educators, and members of the wider community. It challenges us to develop relationships built on love, respect, and mutual support, and it inspires us to strive for excellence in all that we do, knowing that we are called to reflect the image of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our lives.

As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity this Sunday and at our school Mass next Wednesday, let us give thanks for the gift of HTS and for the opportunity to grow together in faith and knowledge. Let us pray for the grace to embody the unity and love of the Trinity in our daily lives, and let us commit ourselves to the mission of our school - to form young minds and hearts in the image of Christ, who reveals to us the love of the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit and to 'live life to the full.'

May the Feast of the Holy Trinity be a time of joy, reflection, and renewal for our school community, as we continue to journey together in faith, hope, and love. Amen.
