Principal's Panorama

Miss Justine Goonan

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last week we reflected on Laudato Si Week with the students, discussing and reflecting on the need and call to care for God's Creation.

This week began with a Reconciliation Week Liturgy led by the Year 5/6 students. Reconciliation Week is a time for all to learn about our shared histories and cultures and to explore how we can all contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The Year 5/6 students shared the following prayer through song and was enjoyed by all in our Sacred Heart Community.

Aboriginal Our Father

You are our father you live in Heaven

We talk to you our father you are good (repeat)

We believe your word father we are your people

Give us bread today (repeat)

We have done wrong we are sorry

Teach us Father all about your word (repeat)

Others have done wrong to us and

We are sorry for them Father today (repeat)

Stop us from doing wrong Father

Save us from the evil one (repeat)

You are our Father you live in Heaven

We talk to you Father you are good (repeat)

Parent & Carer Community Group

Thank you to all of our Parents and Carers who were able to attend our recent meeting. Everyone is always welcome at these meetings, our next one will be held on Wednesday 5th June at 3.30 pm in the School Library.

Driveway Works

Recently we have been upgrading the driveway and car parking area to make sure it is safe and accessible for all. This is still ongoing (although near completion) and a great area of interest for our Foundation & Year One students.

Snowy Hydro STEM Grant

We are very proud to share that we have received funding from the Snowy Hydro Local School STEM Fund for 2024. Amy Lockwood submitted an application on behalf of the School to purchase Lego Kits that can be used to further our STEM program (to the value of $5,200). We are very grateful for this funding and look forward to sharing with you the great learning that occurs with these resources this year!

Uniform

It is important that we continue to make sure that we are wearing correct school uniform on a daily basis at Sacred Heart School.

Students have been provided feedback on wearing shorts with logos on them (plain navy shorts required) and socks with logos or patterns (plain navy socks required).

Students are encouraged to wear a jumper and pants over their shorts to school, as they are arriving at school when it is often 0 degrees currently.

Please see the 'School Calendar' tab for some of the key dates for this term.
