Wellbeing Matters
Stronger Smarter
During Stronger Smarter students have watched a short video called “The Reflection in Me”. This clip explores the concept of talking positively to yourself with kindness and identifying personal strengths. We often can speak highly of those around us yet find it uncomfortable and difficult to see the true greatness of ourselves. This clip encourages positive self talk.
Our youngest students enjoyed talking positively to themselves in the mirror whilst our older students used mindfulness colouring to identify 10 positive strengths they exhibit.
Seasons For Growth
Over the past two sessions the Seasons for Growth students have finished off Winter and moved into Spring.
During Winter participants could recognise emotions associated with loss and changes in their lives. But like the seasons these emotions change and move.
Moving into Spring students have been able to identify activities they can do when they feel different emotions. An example of this may include “I can go for a walk when I feel overwhelmed”. “I can use deep breathing when I feel stressed”.
By identifying a range of activities early, students can better prepare themselves for when their emotions can feel heavy and out of their control.
Students have also enjoyed practising mindfulness as a tool to return to a place of calm.
