PSSA Hockey State Championships

Best of luck this week to Bailey Humphrys who is representing the North Coast at the NSW PSSA State Hockey Championships.

Toormina District Cross-Country

This year's Toormina District Cross-Country was very unique. Due to weather disruptions it was run across two separate venues and two separate days. The 8/9yrs, 10yrs and 11yr boys were run on a very wet track near the Sawtell Caravan Park on Friday 10th May. The 11yr girls and 12/13yrs were run on Tuesday 14th May on the sunny Sawtell beach. As we have come to expect, all 82 Boambee students represented our school with pride and displayed fantastic sportsmanship.

I am very pleased to say that 28 of our athletes were successful in making it to the next level and will now represent both our school and the Toormina District at the Mid-North Coast Cross-Country on Monday 20th May at Nana Glen.

We wish them all the best.

Regards,

Nathan Pike.

Mid-North Coast Cross-Country

On Monday 20th May, 27 of Boambee Public School's best runners represented both their school and the Toormina District at the Mid-North Coast Cross-Country. The event was held in true style, with competitors challenged by the rain soaked paddocks of Nana Glen.

As we have come to expect, all our students were exemplary role models and displayed wonderful sportsmanship. We would like to congratulate Marcus Buchanan, who finished 6th in the 11yr Boys event and is now eligible to attend the North Coast Cross-Country later in the term.

Round 4 PSSA Cricket Knockout

On Friday the 24th of May, the Boambee Public School cricket team travelled to Grafton to take on Grafton Public School in the 4th round of the PSSA Cricket Knockout. Unfortunately, the boys were beaten by a quality team that was packed full to the brim with representative players.

For a team that only had one weekend beginner cricketer, I am very proud of their efforts. We managed to bat out the entire 25 overs against a quality bowling attack and to take several wickets against some extremely talented young batters.

K-1 Athletics

Thank you so much to all of the parents and family members who joined us to cheer on our littlest athletes.

Thanks to Mrs Webb for organising this event - great work!

Basketball

On May 16 our boys basketball team played in the PSSA Knockout Gala Day at the PCYC Stadium. The boys played so well together, there was plenty of positive talk and support. Helping each other and sharing the shooting opportunities.

Well done boys!

AFL

Last week Sofia and Jordie represented Northern Coastal and Inland at the State PSSA AFL Championships in Albury. Sofia and Jordie put in a huge effort over the two days of games, congratulations to you both.

Soccer Gala Day

Recently we took 30 Year 3 students to a 5 v 5 Soccer Gala Day run by Football Northern NSW. As you can see from the photos, our students had an awesome day!

PSSA Soccer Knockout

An exciting day of soccer was had at the PSSA Knockout. Boambee Public School boys and girls played 2 games each and won all four games. Their team play, sportsmanship and work ethic was outstanding.

Well done Boambee Public School!

Paul Kelly Cup

Yesterday Boambee Public School students entered a boys and a girls team into the Paul Kelly Cup at Leisure Park stadium. With only 4 players who have ever played AFL before we were focusing purely on participation...but once again our students adapted and grew and exceeded all of our expectations. The students played exciting football and showed great team spirit. Our boys missed out on the grand final by 1 point and our girls made it all the way to the grand final. With teams from right across the region this was an exceptional result for both teams.
