Whittlesea Student Ambassador Program
In Term 1, Whittlesea Tech School launched the Student Ambassador Program 2024 with participation from 48 students across 10 schools from the Whittlesea LGA. This year's program brings an exciting new twist to the regular Ambassador program with renowned STEM artists Skunk Control at the helm. Students began their year-long project, which will create an immersive experience for the Tech School Exhibition Space.
Over the year, the Student Ambassadors will craft "Phantasmagoria," an artificial garden. The program started with a dynamic first day, with Skunk Control demonstrating various light experiments, and introducing students to the various properties of light that they will harness in their project. Students also constructed Automata; mechanical floral objects, that move and blossom.
Day two saw students ideating and prototyping their first plants. They designed a wide variety of unique petals and began construction of the base and stem. They also continued to experiment with different colours and lighting schemes.
It has been fantastic to meet all of the new ambassadors and to see the connection among students from different schools. As the Student Ambassador Program 2024 unfolds, it promises to be a year-long journey of collaboration and innovation.
Thanks to Nick and Chill from Skunk Control for their engaging program delivery thus far.
