Leadership Report
Thursday 18 April 2024
Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Welcome Back
It was wonderful to see everyone back for the beginning of Term 2, ready to learn and well rested after the holidays. Hopefully, our school community enjoyed time together and the break provided you with an opportunity to recharge and refresh.
I would also like to welcome several new families who commenced at our school this term.
ANZAC Day
The school will be closed next Thursday (25th April) in recognition of ANZAC Day. A short ANZAC assembly service will be held on Wednesday afternoon (24th April) at 2.40pm for students in recognition of this important day. This will be led by our Year 6 leaders.
There are many ways that parents can get their children involved in the ANZAC Day experience and enable them to gain an understanding of the important place ANZAC holds in Australia’s history. Firstly, historical knowledge is important and there are many high quality, child friendly accounts of the ANZAC story, and the ANZAC characteristics that resonate with Australians. Many of these books are available at local libraries; they are also available through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs free of charge. These books make it clear that ANZAC Day is not an event glorifying war, but exactly the opposite. It is a time of reflection and remembrance.
Term 2 Staff Update
Mr. Richardson, Ms. Cheong and Ms. Gill are all currently on leave.
Ms. Ebinger (1E) is currently on Long Service Leave and is being replaced by Mrs. Graham (Monday to Wednesday) and Mrs. Williams (Thursday and Friday)
Mrs. Scott (PE) is currently on Long Service Leave and is being replaced by Ms. Batsakis.
We welcome Ms. Dallimore (Monday) and Mrs. Fleming into the Office (Tuesday to Thursday), and Mrs. Tan will continue to work in the Office on Fridays.

Students should also be picked up before 3.45pm as there is no teacher supervision after this time.
Thank you for your cooperation.
