Mothers' Day Mass
NEW - Cross Country
On Friday May 3rd Sacred Heart did cross country at Cussens Park. It was an exhilarating experience for every boy and girl on the day! Everyone tried their hardest to make it a day for everyone. It was awesome, tiring and extremely fun!
The overall scores were 204 Geary and for the first time in Sacred Heart history there was a tie of 276 McAuley and Frayne. Everyone went crazy! It took awhile to get everyone to calm down.
It was quite an eventful day for everyone and nearly all the students went home exhausted. All of the boys and girls in year six had extremely sore legs (especially the boys). Some surprising finishes happened!
Harry Whitford: “It was fun, pacing and I think everyone did great”
Kurtley Fidock: “It was a very crazy run!”
Ingrid Spedding: “It was difficult and was very tiring”
Alannah Mutimer: “It was VERY exhausting and fun”

NEW - Sandhurst Arts on Show (SAOS)
Yesterday our students who will be performing in SAOS, later in the year, were very fortunate to participate in a workshop with Laura and Grace from the Australian School of Performing Arts (ASPA Education). A fantastic time was had by all. Laura and Grace were checking in on how we are progressing with our songs and dance routine and were very impressed. Congratulations to all our students for their enthusiasm and hard work.
NEW - Library
A little visitor has been busy making a beautiful nest in the library. He has been decorating it with all things blue! Students have been trying to guess what would make such a nest! This week, students can see the little bird that is responsible – a Satin Bowerbird. This year’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) book is called Bowerbird Blues and is about a Bowerbird that finds magnificent blue things to add to his nest, but there is something missing. What could it be? Students will find out when the whole school gathers to read Bowerbird Blues on Wednesday 22nd May. This day is an out of uniform day. Students are encouraged to wear the Bowerbird’s favourite colour – blue - but please, no face paint or blue hair colour.
Thank you.
NEW - Fortnight in Foundation
Foundation children have been busy learning, and can you believe we have been at school for 50 days? We celebrated with 'Half-day'. Check out the fabulous photos of different-coloured shoes, socks, and hairstyles.
The children have been busy practising for our annual Mother's Day Mass and look forward to reading and singing in our Church this Friday.
We have also been learning more letters and sounds, including last week's E and Q and this week's Z and J. There are only U, K, X, and W to go, and we will celebrate our learning with Milo's Surprise Birthday in Week 7. We hope children have considered who they would like to come as.
Please remember to keep your child reading each night and practising their sounds and sight words. If you haven't already done so, the PM online reading app has lots more books your child can read from at home. The letter and log-in details were sent home last week.
Thank you
