Head of Trades

This is my first chatter for a while, as I have been on leave. Thank you, in particular to Ben Elliott for undertaking the Head of Department role in my absence. By all accounts he did a great job with support from our Trades staff.

Trade Drawing

We have commenced our drawing short course this week. Year 11 students are learning to undertake basic drawing and AutoCAD and will be able to use their new skills to plan and desig personal projects.

Surf Camp

The Surf Camp was held from April 19 to April 21 at Yallingup. We left on Friday afternoon and arrived in Busselton for dinner and settled in at the Catholic Youth Camp.

The next morning, we hit the beach and met up with our surf coach, Crystal. When we hit the water, the competition was fierce with Mr Trevenen and Myles vying for best wave rights. Everyone was catching waves and having a great time.

After surfing, we headed to the Margaret River Pro and absorbed the atmosphere of the event. We saw some pros free surfing but as luck would have it, the competition was cancelled for the day due to poor conditions.

Back to camp and we had a great mixed grill cooked by some budding chefs and for some of us, it was great to see the Eagles have a win.

It was a pleasure to go on the camp with this group of students and we had great feedback from the public on how they conducted themselves.

Without volunteers, the camp couldn’t go ahead. Thank you to Rohan Trevenen, Macey Hill and Elizabeth Tait for their assistance over the weekend.
