Welcome back to Term 2!  It has been wonderful to see all the students and to hear about their holiday activities and celebrations.  We look forward to continuing to build, connect with and support the staff, the students and families at Broadmeadows Primary School and the wider community.

We are focused on a whole-school approach to supporting mental health and well-being across the school community.  Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills and The Resilience Project (TRP) are embedded in the school's curriculum with the aim of developing the ability to understand and manage our emotions, establish positive relationships, develop empathy for others, set and achieve goals, and feel good about oneself.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back after an adverse event and is a protective factor for children and young people’s mental health and well-being.  SEL is recognised as an effective preventative approach for building children’s ability to succeed, thrive and in the classroom helps build critical life skills to boost overall mental health and well-being.

A good night's sleep plays an important role in children's overall wellbeing (and for all the parents who wonder how they can support their child’s immune system during the colder seasons - sleep is a big factor!).

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's Class Teacher or the Well-being Leader for further information and support as required with thanks.

As we know many people across the world and more locally have been and continue to be affected by stressful events.  It is important that we take time to look after our own mental health and wellbeing, the well-being of our loved ones and community and to ask for help and support if required.

Please find attached a list of mental health services and support for your information.
