Grade 5/6

Writing 

Students all got to present their work last week on their inquiry into Inspirational leaders. They had worked hard all last term putting together fabulous presentations on people that inspire them. They all did a wonderful job and should be congratulated.

Problem Solving in Math

This week the Grade 5/ 6 completed a Problem Solving Task based on number lines. The students were able to rely on their problem solving strategies such as trial and error in order to answer the question. It was wonderful to see the students share their ideas and learn from one another.  

Reading 

This week students worked on the beginning stages of literature circles and organising key roles. Students were excited to begin the transition of working independently and taking on their own learning and success. 

S.E.L (Social Emotional Learning)                    - Gratitude

Our students have been exploring the different parts of their lives that they are grateful for this week. Nearly all of them mentioned their gratitude to their families and the way they are cared about and shown love at home. It was very clear that our students value friendships and the strong               

                            connections they have to their families.
