Middle School

3/4 LP & 3/4 JS

Welcome back to Term 2! It has been great to see all students get back into their learning so easily after the break.

IN OUR LEARNING

In our Reading sessions students have been comparing the language features of imaginative, persuasive and informative texts. They have been learning to identify different perspectives or points of view in texts and honing their inferencing skills to help answer questions.

In Writing students have been focusing on procedural texts and making sure the steps they write are in a clear and logical order. Students have had a great time making fairy bread and grass houses and writing procedures for these.

In Maths students have been learning to tell the time to the minute and using fractional language when reading times. Students have been learning to calculate elapsed time using a timeline. We are beginning to look at fractions, with students labelling and identifying parts of fractions.

In Humanities, students are learning about the history of the Ancient Olympics and comparing the similarities and differences between the Ancient and Modern Olympics.

CROSS COUNTRY

We had perfect weather for our Cross Country last week. Well done to all students for putting in their best efforts and a big congratulations to those students that qualified for district!
