Dear Parent/Guardian/Carer/Students and Staff,

Welcome back to Term 2. It's been a great start for all and we've bounced back into action. All kids have started happy, healthy and connected. Thank you to parents/carers for your support in making it a smooth start. Thank you to my staff for also setting the expectations high and planning effectively for a successful Term ahead.

Congratulations to all our students on receiving their fortnightly G.R.O.W.TH awards. We definitely feel pride when our students are demonstrating our school values. Awesome work team!

New Childcare Centre Opening in 2025 (Tivendale Rd, Officer). Next door to Officer Primary School.

Spread the word: School Tours

Please share with your family and friends that school tours are occurring every fortnight during Term 2 at Officer Primary. Thank you to families who have continuously vocalised positively and publicly for our school community.  This has certainly had an impact on recent interest to our school.

See attachment below for times of tours:

New Enrolment Process

All schools are now using the Department's Digital Enrolment Process called VicSchools. The portal is now OPEN to submit an application for 2025. Please see our school website to gain access to instructions on how to complete this process. If you need technical assistance book in an appointment our our office ladies will assist. Current families will need to use this approach.

Attendance and Lateness Expectations

We have high-expectations with regards to student attendance. Research shows that the percentage of attendance of a student directly relates to them having positive outcomes. Please note any student who is going on a Holiday must seek to have this approved by the school first. Any student with extensive medical leave must provide a medical certificate to the school for their periods of absence to be school-approved. The Department has requirements that need to be followed.

Lateness/Signing in our out

If your child is attending late i.e after 9.05 am the parent/guardian must sign the child at reception. Older siblings should not be signing themselves in or their siblings. A reminder school starts at 8.50am. Students are expected to be here by that time.

5/6 The WIZ production at St Margaret Berwick

We would like to thank St Margaret's Berwick for allowing our 5/6's to attend and watch their students perform 'The Wiz' theatrical. Our students had a superb time. We thank you again for your service.

Ray White Officer

A special thanks to Ray White Officer for supplying us with advertising boards at no cost. We thank you for your service and care for our school. For those who are not aware Ray White is a fairly new real estate in the area. They are positioned just on the highway close to the school. If you are planning on selling they are an awesome bunch. We highly rate their community spirit.

Disability Inclusion Profiles

The Department has shifted it's funding approach for students with a Disability. Our school is transitioning to this new model from Term 2, 2024. Should you feel your child might require funding or consideration, please contact Nicole Peachey for a discussion. Please find attached detailed information including a presentation to follow through. The Disability Inclusion Profiles overall are a functional-based approach to supporting students with a disability instead of a clinical-approach.

ANZAC Assembly

Thank you to our student leadership team and captains for leading an excellent ceremony for ANZAC day. Our students demonstrated exceptional respect and knowledge on the day. Well done.

Guest Speaker Emma Mickle

Our school had the opportunity to meet a special Para-Olympian Emma Mickle last week. Emma shared with our school community how it was important to overcome adversity through strength and perseverance. Our kids took a lot from the presentation. Thank you Emma M!

The Summit Camp Grade 3-6: Registrations

Thanks to those who have begun payments and returned forms to the office already. This year we will be trialling a new process for inputting student details for our upcoming camp via the Summit Camp portal.  We understand this is different to previous camp preparation processes so please let us know if you encounter any difficulties. Once you register your child you will be able to access resources such as maps, clothing lists and other information regarding the camp.  Please note within the portal, The Summit Camp lists all available activities, however, the selected activities that we will be participating in will be confirmed closer to our arrival date.
