Term 2 Swimming Lessons

In Term 2 students from Years 1 – 3 will attend swimming lessons at Heather’s Swim School, Main Street, Elliminyt. (Foundation students and Years 4, 5 and 6 will attend swimming lessons in Term 4).

Students will need to bring (or wear their bathers), a towel, goggles etc. Students may wear their sports uniform on their allocated swimming day. We do need MORE parent helpers to assist with the walking of children to the pool. If you can help out, can you please contact your child/children’s classroom teacher. A reminder to helpers; you must hold a current ‘Working With Children Check’ and the school office has sighted and entered your details.

Rosters have been sent home to those families that have offered to assist. 

Can you please be at the school 30 minutes before the lesson time.

 

The swimming times for each class are as follows:

Tuesday - Year 1LC (11:30am – 12:00pm), Year 1MD (12:00pm – 12:30pm), 

Year 2PM (12:30pm – 1:00pm), Year 2RB (1:00pm – 1:30pm), Year 1AG (1:30pm – 2:00pm), 

Year 2FM (2:00pm – 2:30pm)                   

 

Wednesday Year 3AH (11:30am – 12:00pm), Year 3KM (12:00pm – 12:30pm)

Sacred Heart Athletics Years F-2

Well done to all the children who participated in the Sacred Heart Junior Athletics Carnival. A big thank you to our Year 6 students who led the activities on the day. Thanks to the parents, grandparents etc for their support. 

Golf Coaching Lessons

Last term, golf pro Michael Bainbridge gave our Year 5 and 6 students golf lessons. Michael is starting a MyGolf clinic, starting Tuesday May 14th. Golf coaching sessions are once a week and go for 60 minutes. The MyGolf program is a 6 week program. If your child is interested, please contact Michael or log into the Registration link on the attached pamphlet.

 

State Team Cricket Trials

We wish Max Mitchell and Lucas Rodger all the best, when they travel to Horsham this Wednesday 17th April to participate in the State Team Cricket Trials. Good luck boys!

 

State Team Basketball Trials

We wish Bodhi Baker and Jack Seuren all the best, when they travel to Ballarat this Friday 17th April to participate in the State Team Basketball Trials. Good luck boys!

 

State Team Netball Trials

We wish Ruby Hay and Natalie Farquharson all the best, when they travel to Ballarat,  Friday 26th April to participate in the State Team Netball Trials. Good luck girls!

 

Colac Division Lawn Bowls Tournament

The Colac Division Lawn Bowls Tournament will be held next Monday 22nd April at the Colac Bowling Club (Lake Bowling Club). Sacred Heart will be entering two teams for this event. Students who are selected will be travelling by bus to the Colac Bowling Club this Friday 19th April for a practise. 

More information will be sent home via PAM when the final selections are made.

Name: Piper Kirkman (Yr 6LG)

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are netball and dance.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? Dance is my favourite sport.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Dance is my favourite sport to play because I am good at dance and I really enjoy it.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I performed in my first dance concert in 2019. The memory has stuck with me.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my stomach muscles, they are very strong.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love dancing because it is fun and I love learning new dance routines.

7. Who is your favourite sports person?  My favourite sports person is Courtney Barrow, my dance teacher.

8. Why are they your favourite?  She is my favourite sports person because she helps me to learn a lot of my dances.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? I don’t know any dance teams.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach would describe me as an energetic friend that helps out her team.

 

Name: Jack Widdicombe (Yr 3AH)

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are basketball, cricket and soccer.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? Football is my favourite sport.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Football is my favourite sport to play because I like kicking and marking the football.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I got my first trophy.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my speed and agility. I am a good runner.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to play with my friends and sport is fun.

7. Who is your favourite sports person?  My favourite sports person is Nick Daicos.

8. Why are they your favourite?  He is my favourite player because he is a very good player for Collingwood.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Collingwood Magpies.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach would describe me as a hard-working player, who has good skills in basketball.

1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are netball and cricket.

2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is netball.

3. Why is this your favourite sport? Netball is my favourite sport because I am good at it and I like playing with my friends.

4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I scored my first goal in netball.

5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport are my speed, and I am good at dodging.

6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to play with my friends and it fills up my spare time.

7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is my sister Natalie.

8. Why are they your favourite?  She is my favourite sports person because she helps me to become a better netball player.

9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is Colac Imperials.

10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am very friendly and nice and a good sport.
