Hello AHPS!

The Specialists staff proudly welcome Belinda Martys to the Visual Arts team alongside Carly Ford. Bell will be located in Art/ST.E.A.M. Room 1and Carly in Room 2 across the path. Please make her feel welcome and we look forward to the amazing creativity to come out of the Art Department this year!

This term, students have begun diving into colour theory, identifying, mixing and exploring painting in its many form. They have used a variety of tools and paints to create colourful artworks, whilst developing new techniques and skills. Students have used paint sticks, a fun, quick and mess-free material to create moon and sun images, experimenting with warm and cool colours. They have also started using watercolour paints in a technique called wet-on wet painting, using cool colours on wet paper to create a wash for a galaxy inspired piece. Students will soon explore wet on dry techniques with warm colours inspired by sunsets and silhouettes of land, hills and trees. We look forward to sharing their completed artworks with you.
