Secondary Reading Passport Challenge

"Reading is not just an escape. It is access to a better way of life. For me, it's a way to challenge myself and learn something new. I see it as an adventure." -Markus Zusak, Australian Author

The Christway College Secondary School Reading Passport Challenge offers Secondary students an exciting opportunity to enhance their reading skills and explore diverse literary worlds.

Secondary students have been given a passport. This passport does not grant them physical access to foreign lands of course, but it does have the potential to open whole new worlds.

Students have been collecting passport stamps and earning points by reading books from specified categories, earning rewards based on the number of points they accumulate. Don’t be surprised if they are asking you to get them to the library these school holidays!

Through independent reading across various genres, students can develop critical thinking, expand their vocabulary and gain cultural awareness. This program aims to foster a lifelong love for reading while supporting academic achievement and cultivating independence.

The challenge encourages students to explore beyond their comfort zone while providing a structured framework for tracking their own progress and celebrating their achievements. Through this program, students embark on a literary adventure that not only enriches their minds but also provides a pathway to personal growth and knowledge acquisition. Please see the Reading Passport Challenge Schoolbox Group for more information.

Ask your child which point category they are pursuing or, if you're ready for an adventure, join them on their journey!
