Grade 1 Integrated Studies

In Integrated Studies this term, the Grade 1s have had a busy and engaging time learning about their community, emergency services, and keeping themselves safe. They have learnt how to dial 000 and which service to ask for in an emergency. During the First Aid incursion, they were given opportunities to practice basic first aid skills. A visit from the local police and ambulance services generated much enthusiasm and discussion. A highlight was having their heart rate assessed at the back of the ambulance and hearing the siren. Other exciting incursions this term regarding safety included Pet Safety, Healthy Harold and Tooth Tales.
