Principal's Message
Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,
I was overjoyed to see so many parents at our recent Parents and Friends (P&F) meeting. Our school thrives on collaboration and the shared commitment to providing the best educational experience for our students. Your attendance at the P&F meeting demonstrates your dedication to fostering a strong partnership between home and school, creating a positive and enriching environment for our children.
I wish to acknowledge and thank the P&F committee and class parents for their hard work and dedication in organising the various events for 2024. As we move forward, I encourage each of you to continue actively participating in the various school activities and events. Your engagement strengthens the sense of community within our school, creating an environment where every student feels supported and valued.
If you have any further thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to reach out. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to make Holy Family an even better place for our students.
I would like to thank everyone for the warm birthday wishes, your thoughtfulness is it is very much appreciated.
Key Points from the Principal's Report:
New staff
This year we have welcomed Mrs Alyce Keating – KG teacher, Mrs Bianca Davis - Year 2 and Mrs Caroline McNally – Gifted Ed. teacher. Thank you for making them feel welcomed into the Holy Family community.
Enrolments
Currently we have 10 classes with 243 students, this is an increase of 20 students since February 2023 census. Open Day presentation and school tours occur this Thursday and Friday. Thank you to our wonderful Senior students for their outstanding leadership throughout the school tours.
Attendance
I wish to thank parents and carers for their efforts to get their children to school on time. Attendance has improved dramatically this year and punctuality has made a huge difference to students' learning.
Years 5 & 6 Leadership
The Year 5 and Year 6 students have enjoyed a successful camp at Narrabeen Sport and Recreation. From all accounts they thoroughly enjoyed their time developing teamwork and collaboration skills.
Playground Update
The contracts for the new playground upgrade have been signed. We now wait for the commencement date. Thank you for your patience with this project, I will keep you updated as soon as I am notified.
OOSH
Last year, OOSH commenced with 15 students attending in the afternoons. We acknowledge that the numbers have grown significantly, and this may have caused some angst amongst parents as they have struggled to secure a vacancy for their child. Due to the growing demand for places a new contract is ready for sign off with a capacity of 75 students per session. This should occur within the coming days. I will send out a Compass message as soon as we have confirmation.
During Term 2 and 3 OOSH will be offering morning positions for half price at $12.00. Please see Ryan for more information.
Parent Partnership
Thank you to the many parents who were able to attend the recent Parent Information evening followed by 1:1 Meet the Teacher meetings. We are “Building a partnership for success”.
God Bless you and your families
Pauline Dinale
