Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays at the College. Students are honoured by their teachers and also presented with a birthday certificate and small treat from Mrs Mahoney’s birthday box. If you would like to (with no obligation) send something along to school to help your child celebrate in their class, we highly recommend a non-food treat such as a pencil, bouncy ball or similar. The teacher will facilitate the distribution with the birthday child during class time.

A plate of shared food is discouraged for hygiene reasons, to mitigate risk of illness across a class group.

Shared Food

We have a considerable number of students with food allergies in our classes and our policy on a day-to-day basis is no food sharing to mitigate risk in this area. Please contact your child’s class teacher a few days prior to sending any food in to be shared so we can cater for the students who will not be able to enjoy the treat. It is highly recommended that any food items be individually packaged wherever possible and the list of ingredient provided.

Prep's Wonderful Start

Prep have had a smooth and wonderful start to their first year in Primary school. We have enjoyed exploring the room and were very keen to learn.

Below are some pictures on the first day of Prep playing on our desk and in the room with our friends.

This term Prep will be inquiring about 'Who we are?' and 'Where we are in place and time?' In 'Who we are', we shared about our interests in regards to colours, toys, places, and food. We also looked at the ways we look different from our friends. We had a close look in the mirror and talked about our eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, and our height. We used coloured tissue paper to record our height. Here are some pictures with our height strips.
