1/2 BM/Accounting 

On February 23, 2024, representatives from CPA Australia Mel and Amy provided fortunate Nossal VCE Units 1/2 Business Management and Accounting students with an invaluable lecture session. 

Mel, who has a distinguished double degree in business and computing from Monash University and a leadership position at his current workplace presented an overview of the accounting profession. 

By the end of the period, the audience had learnt numerous key ideas, as Amy's contribution built upon that of Mel's, and they scrupulously expanded upon each other's concepts flawlessly.

Following a thorough introduction, Mel guided the conversation into the intricate field of accounting. Given that accountants are required in virtually all sectors, he emphasized their significance around the globe and termed them the "heartbeat of the world." 

He proceeded on adding that since the occupation is in high demand, it has the potential to lead individuals to almost any field. 

During the Question-and-Answer session, Mel talked about how he found being able to help others flourish and resolve issues as the most fulfilling part of his job. 

This included being able to help others resolve issues, work around hinderances and overcome obstacles. He also spoke about some challenges that may be incorporated within the profession. 

These discussions provided a greater understanding of accounting. All attendees are grateful for the priceless knowledge provided by Mel and Amy. 

Their insights did not only provide a significantly deeper understanding of accounting, but also provided inspiration for students to pursue accounting after their journey at Nossal.
