University of Melbourne Year 9 sheCommerce applications close 17 March 

The sheCommerce program is an immersive and academic enrichment program delivered by the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Business and Economics. It is designed for high school students who identify as women or non-binary and are passionate about leadership and pursuing a career where they can impact change. It is free of charge and students will enter the program in Year 9 and remain a sheCommerce student through to Year 12.

 

The program provides a platform for students to meet like-minded peers, current Bachelor of Commerce students, alumni, and inspiring academics who are making a difference in industry and through their research. By participating in this program, students will gain a deeper understanding of the world of commerce, develop leadership skills, and broaden their perspectives on the role they can play in shaping the future.

ANU Open day 2024 – Saturday 16 March, 9am to 3pm

ANU Open Day is an annual event for prospective students and their families to explore the University. You can tour the campus, attend information sessions, talk to staff and students about ANU degrees and opportunities. If you can't visit Canberra to join in-person, you can watch the live stream of the information sessions held throughout the day. Discover Monash Course Information sessions open for registrations – running from March to May

Students considering studying at Monash University are encouraged to join the Discover Monash events to hear directly from current Monash students, alumni and staff across their ten faculties. The first of these future student events is the Discover Medicine webinar on Thursday 21 March which will provide information about the course structure, placement opportunities and entry requirements. Current Monash Medicine students will be online to provide insights into their own experiences as well.

These events will be either in person or online with registration essential, and Monash recommends you register asap for in-person events due to limited capacity

 

Box Hill Institute Talk & Tours 

Students keen on finding out about studying at Box Hill Institute, seeing the facilities, and speaking to teachers, are invited to attend the below Talk & Tour events taking place at Box Hill campuses from 4pm to 7pm. Tours may include the hair and beauty salons, the florist, Fountains Restaurant (which includes state of the art kitchens), the vet clinic, the music studios, automotive workshops and much more. Registration is essential.

Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Festivals and Mega Days

Throughout the year, the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music will be hosting exciting activities designed for future students! It is a great opportunity for students to participate in masterclasses, rehearsals, and performances, whilst experiencing a day at the Conservatorium. The first event for 2024 is the Melbourne Mini Opera Festival on 22-24 March with bookings opening soon.

Looking to explore a potential career pathway, boost your skills, or just learn something new? Skill Finder is an online course marketplace that features over 3,000 free courses provided by some of the world’s leading tech companies and funded by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources through the Digital Skills Platform Program. 

 

They offer courses in a wide variety of categories, including computing, design, business, and more. You don’t need any previous knowledge to jump into a course – they’re available to anyone at any time. There are different course levels, from complete beginners to pros looking to refine their skills. 

 

They also have a Career Pathways tool where you can explore the skills and knowledge you’ll need for your dream job, then find suggested courses to get you started on your journey. Learn online, at your own pace, and at no cost.
