Year 9 Laptops

It’s been a very busy but productive time in the IT Department in Term 1 so far. We set up the Year 9 laptops in 4 days so they could be used as fast as possible. Unfortunately, the dock workers strike in Sydney pushed back their delivery.

Our partners at eduNet delivered the laptops to the school themselves to speed up the process.

It was very rewarding to hand them all out on Friday afternoon and I want to thank everyone who helped, including Ms Macklin and Ms Vanstan. It was all hands-on deck!

If anyone has any questions or issues about their Year 9 Laptop, please do not hesitate to contact us at Notebooks@nossalhs.vic.edu.au

Cybersecurity “Hackers” Club

I was very happy to start the Nossal Hackers club a few weeks ago. I was not sure such a club was welcome, but I’ve been eager to pass on what I’ve learned in my journey in Cybersecurity. We have a great group size of 30+ and we are starting the work on the types of information nefarious people use during a cyber-attack.

I am looking forward to delving deeper into this topic and introducing the students to this topic with hands on activities, lectures and a guest speak as the club develops.
