Primary Section News

It's hard to believe that we are halfway through Term 1 already. Our primary section have been working hard this term as we have settled into new classroom and routines. Students have enjoyed learning about the 'Zones of Regulation' through weekly lessons run by our occupation therapist Brooke, where students have focussed on identifying different emotions they may feel. Students have also practiced checking and following their schedules each day and it has been great to see students engaging in learning tasks as the familiarise themselves with new classroom structures. Well done on a great start to the year primary team!

Secondary School

After reaching the midway point of Term 1, Secondary school would like to share some of the great programs happening in the classroom and around the school. The bike education program has been a hit with the students from room 12/13! The reading about health program has seen students engaged in their learning for room 19! Room 20 has been enjoying the aquatics program with some great swim sessions, and also their cooking program. Thanks to all the families that attended SSG's. So good to meet many of the families in person and so many great conversations. Looking forward to the rest of term 1.

Transition section

It's been a busy time in the transition section. This term saw the introduction of new experiences, as well as a continuation of some well-practiced and popular transition programs. With a focus on civic participation and student voice, students have been learning about leadership qualities, speech writing and how to safely access their community. The students have continued to enjoy the lunch making and meals on wheels programs, and as a section, the students designed a new sports uniform to see out the rest of the year at inter-school sport. Students have also been working hard at organising the CSDS Post School Options Expo evening taking place on 27/3/24 from 7:00PM - 8:30PM. All are welcome! Please find further information in the Notices and Flyers section of this addition of In Touch.
