Year 7 Camp:

Unforgettable Adventures at Mylor!

Our recent school camp at Mylor was an exhilarating experience for our Year 7 students. With a large group of enthusiastic newcomers, we embarked on a three-day, two-night adventure filled with teamwork, challenges, and unforgettable memories.

Nestled amidst the picturesque Adelaide Hills, Mylor provided the perfect backdrop for our camp. The serene surroundings and fresh mountain air set the stage for an exciting journey.

Our action-packed itinerary included a variety of activities that pushed students out of their comfort zones.

Including:

Archery Tag: Bulls-eyes, adrenaline, and friendly competition Students embraced their inner Robin Hood during archery tag battles. Arrows flew, laughter echoed, and new friendships bloomed.

Group Initiatives: Teams collaborated on mind-bending puzzles, trust exercises, and problem-solving challenges. Communication and cooperation were key as students discovered their hidden strengths.

Low Ropes: Balancing on wobbly ropes and navigating obstacle courses tested both physical and mental agility. Cheers erupted as students conquered each element, supporting one another along the way.

Challenge Course: The ‘Survivor’ style activities and opportunity to get muddy elevated excitement (and heart rates). Students climbed, slid, and conquered their fears, proving that courage knows no bounds.

Canoes: Paddling down the river, students explored nature’s beauty. Ducks quacked, water rippled, and teamwork propelled our canoes forward.

Giant Swing: Screams of delight echoed through the treetops as students soared on the giant swing. Fear turned into exhilaration, and bonds strengthened with every swing.

Raft Building: Armed with barrels, ropes, and creativity, students constructed rafts to navigate the swimming pool. Laughter bubbled as some rafts floated gracefully, while others… well, let’s just say they provided unexpected swimming lessons! Night time activities included Minute to Win It and Trivia excitement, along with plenty of free time to allow students to forge new friendships.

Our students embodied the school’s core values throughout the camp. Love: Encouraging words, helping hands, and genuine camaraderie – love was evident in every interaction.

Courage: From conquering heights to trying new activities, our students displayed unwavering courage.

Forgiveness: Mistakes happened, but forgiveness flowed freely. Bonds grew stronger as students learned to let go and move forward.

Hope: As the sun set over Mylor, hope glimmered in their eyes. Hope for new friendships, personal growth, and countless adventures ahead.

The Year 7 camp was more than just a three day camp; it was a transformative experience.

Our Year 7 students returned with muddy shoes, tired smiles, and hearts full of memories. Here’s to many more adventures together!

Special thanks to our dedicated and extremely tired staff and the students who made this journey unforgettable. A special mention also for our Year 9 Village Leaders who helped the Year 7 students settle into camp on the first day.

Year 7 Camp:

Year 9 Middle Years Village Leaders

The 2024 Year 9 Middle Years Village Leaders fulfilled their first job as leaders by attending Day 1 of the Year 7 Camp. Prior to this day, each Village pair created an activity to meet the objective of 'building positive relationships'. It was wonderful to see the student leaders supporting the Year 7s to break the ice with each other and start to build Village spirit. Their activities were thoughtful, well-planned, and extraordinarily successful. The Year 9s alsoassisted the campers by helping them to create Endeavour Way dorm agreements with their new dorm buddies. This was a powerful example of student leadership in action!

Athletics Carnival

The 2024 Athletics carnival proved to be an electrifying showcase of Village spirit, etching lasting memories and fostering friendly competition. Despite the ever-changing weather forecasts, which consistently predicted scorching conditions, we had to make some adjustments to our traditional program. However, the students embraced these changes with enthusiasm, infusing the day with a contagious positive energy that made it truly remarkable.

The pinnacle of the event was undoubtedly the renowned Spoke Relay, followed by an exhilarating series of year level relays where some results were separated by mere milliseconds!

Adding to the excitement was the introduction of the new standalone event, the 'Endeavour All Star 8', which served as a thrilling finale. This event matched the fastest 8 female and male athletes in the 100m sprint against competitors of their own gender, captivating the entire crowd in a blue-chip spectacle. It was incredible to witness Year 7s competing against Year 12s.

Congratulations are in order for Heysen, who emerged victorious by accumulating the most points and securing the overall prize for the day. Below, you'll find the top three winners in each age group, along with the final standings in terms of points.
