From the Leadership Team

Student Action Team:

Training Day

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself.

What a great privilege it was to spend a day with students who have the courage to lead, striving to make a difference through their service and blessing the College through their positive impact. Authentic student leadership, strong advocacy and voice and exceptional role modelling ensure our College continues to have a culture of student responsibility, ownership and belonging.

The Student Action Team Training Day was a powerful opportunity for the Student Executive to inspire and influence the members of the team. The Student Executive, planned activities that challenged individual leadership capabilities, helped to develop teamwork, with a focus on a collective vision and goals for the year ahead. This peer influence conveys a significant message of student values, attitudes and behaviours.

The development of leadership skills in our students is so important in our rapidly changing world. Leadership involves critical and creative thinking and problem-solving which are vital for our students who will need to navigate this ever-changing world. This current generation of students will need confidence, adaptability and perseverance to thrive. We aim to develop these attributes in our students throughout all aspects of College life.

The aim, through this supportive leadership environment, is to help these young leaders find and develop a confident voice, embrace their capacity for impact and be willing to lead.

Empowerment of students enhances engagement throughout all aspects of the College. As the members of the Student Action Team, these young leaders inspired by their peers, develop as independent thinkers able to work in a team environment to take collective action.

I hope they genuinely feel our gratitude, respect and trust in them as leaders and they through their service are empowered to bring tangible benefits to everyone in our community which engenders great school spirit and pride.
