P&C Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion
Our Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion was phenomenal! Thank you to the P&C for organising this event with our school. It takes so much effort and hard work and we appreciate the P&C members, parent volunteers and Team Tally for working together to create such a fabulous event for our students.
It was such a fun-filled day and our students had a blast. Although we had to have a temporary pause to the event due to weather, all students were able to participate and left school colourful and happy! I think this photo of two of our Prep students sums up the day perfectly!
School Council Parent Representative Nominations
As an Independent Public School, we have a school council that plays an essential part in our work to improve student outcomes.
“The functions of a school council are to:
- monitor the school’s strategic direction;
- approve plans and policies of the school of a strategic nature, or other documents affecting strategic matters including the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure for the school;
- monitor the implementation of the plans, policies and other documents mentioned above; and advise the school’s principal about strategic matters.”
The membership of the school council includes two elected parent representatives (not to be confused with parent representatives for classes) and two elected staff representatives. The duration of each member’s position on the school council is limited (except for the Principal and P&C President). Due to this, one of our current parent members will conclude their service on the council this year and nominations will be invited, followed by an election.
An email detailing the nomination and election process for the next parent representative on our school council will be emailed to parents and carers this afternoon.
If you do not receive the information, please contact our office.
Pre-Prep Sponsorship
Would your business like to help us to enhance the Pre-Prep experience for children in 2025? Picture your business logo on adorable little shirts for Pre-Prep children when they visit school.
We are interested in developing a sponsorship arrangement to support us to enhance our signature Pre-Prep program, Pounce into Prep for 2025. This partnership opportunity will be designed in consideration of the goals of the enhancement and the business/businesses. Information about this opportunity will be available for interested businesses from 14 October 2024, so please email admin@tallebudgerass.eq.edu.au before then so we can contact you.
Junior Sports Day
Junior Sports Day last Friday was a great success! The sun was shining, the oval was dry and Prep to Year 3 students had a fantastic time taking part in a range of races and activities. A huge thank you to Craig Marais for organising the event and to our wonderful student leaders who supported teachers to run activities.
Koala visits!
We had another friendly visit from one of our local koalas last week. There was great excitement from students arriving at the front gate to see a mother koala with her joey wandering around before climbing one of the tall trees at the front of the school.
The Prep students and Tally Tiger were particularly enthralled!
Holidays
Wishing all of our Tallebudgera families a wonderful break. Term 4 commences Monday 30 September.
