Message From Our

Principal

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

As we conclude Term 3, I would like to reflect on what has been a truly remarkable term. It has been a living example of Sacred Heart’s commitment to honouring our Mercy traditions, engaging students in rich and diverse learning opportunities, and fostering positive relationships.

Our students have flourished, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff, and the unwavering support of our parents. Together, we’ve continued to build a nurturing environment where learning thrives.

A special congratulations to our students for their outstanding behaviour and athletic abilities at yesterday's local athletics carnival. Their sportsmanship and determination were evident throughout the day, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented Sacred Heart. A big thank you to our staff, whose careful planning and supervision ensured the event ran smoothly and safely for all involved.

Looking ahead to Term 4, we are excited to announce an upcoming Fundraising Event: the Sacred Heart Colour Explosion Fun Run! With the support of our School Advisory Council, we will host this event on Friday, December 6th. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and raise funds for the rejuvenation of our Multi-Court area, ensuring our students continue to have a dynamic space for sport and play. More details will be shared at the beginning of Term 4.

In addition, October will see Tatura celebrating 150 years of settlement. Sacred Heart is proud to participate in this milestone, with a range of activities planned both within the school and throughout the wider community. Tatura is a wonderful place to live, learn, and grow, and we look forward to celebrating its rich history with our students.

As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to remind families of the importance of fulfilling school fee commitments. All outstanding fees from previous years, along with the 2024 fees, are due by the end of this term. We understand that circumstances can sometimes make it challenging to meet these commitments, so I encourage any families needing assistance to please contact me directly. We are here to support you, and I’m happy to discuss payment arrangements. To schedule an appointment, please reach out to Debbie Worm at the school office.

I’m pleased to inform you that the damaged shade sail structures in the quadrangle, which were originally scheduled for replacement during the last school holidays, will now be replaced over the upcoming break. The delay was due to unforeseen technical difficulties, but I’ve been assured by the project manager that all is on track. We expect the quadrangle area to be fully restored and functioning by Week 4 of next term.

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our Sacred Heart community. Together, we continue to create an environment where our students thrive, feel safe and valued, and are inspired to reach their full potential.

Enjoy the term holidays.

God bless,

Jamie McDowall
