Resilience Project

Supporting the wellbeing of our Essendon Primary School community

In early September our school was visited by a team from Jellis Craig to see The Resilience Project (TRP) in action around the school. We were very fortunate to be one of the schools that received funding from The Jellis Craig Foundation so the TRP Education Program could be implemented at EPS in 2024. It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss our partnership and share the positive impact the program is having on our students. The support of this Jellis Craig Foundation initiative this year has provided the us with a fantastic gateway to continuing with TRP into 2025. Evidence has shown that the biggest well-being outcomes are achieved when schools work with TRP to build a culture of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness year after year. It was recently anncounced that the TRP curriculum and resources has undergone exciting improvements, so EPS can look forward to almost 80% new lesson content, revamped Student Journal designs and updated Inspire videos, unique for each year level for the first time, for students to enjoy!

Our normal sea of red and black was brightened up with splashes of yellow on Thursday 12th September as our school recognised national R U OK? Day.

Staff and students came to school wearing a wide variety of combinations of the charity's official colours. It was wonderful to see some wearing black from head to toe, combinations of yellow with black, and even a few who could find items in their wardrobe so they were entirely in the colour that symbolises joy, happiness and optimism.

We are pleased to announce that EPS' gold coin donation raised $200

Thank you to everyone for the colourful and financial contributions made towards this very important charity.

Donations will help with:

  • Delivery of new campaigns and free resources to inspire regular, meaningful conversations.
  • Expansion of the campaign’s reach so there is support for more schools, workplaces and communities.
  • Continually improving R U OK?'s work by conducting rigorous research and evaluation
