In our Garden

Do you have time to come and help in our garden? We could use some extra hands to assist during gardening sessions and at other times too. Our garden is beautiful and we all love it, and want it to be well cared for, that means we need your help!

If you have some time to spare, please let us know. Thank you!

Term 3 Highlights

Its been a busy term with students making leaps and bounds in their learning and development.  I can't believe how tall our senior students have become!

The Rotunda has never looked so tidy!

As the weather has warmed up, we have focussed on propagation, with all grades planting seed, cuttings or helping to pot up our very tiny seedlings.  F/1 grades have helped grow a selection of herbs and flowers from cuttings and were able to take home some of our own Purple King runner beans.

We plan to have a seedling give away early next term, so if you have any small pots  at home that you can donate, please drop them in to the nursery.

Storms

It certainly has been a stormy term with hail and wind causing a bit of havoc both at school and home.  Luckily damage to the garden and greenhouse has been minimal and we took the opportunity to talk about how hail is formed and the weather processes that occur in storm clouds.  See the link below from the BOM for a detailed explanation and video.

Snapshots

Here are a few snapshots of some of our students working in the garden, all grades have done a great job this term and it has been lovely to have a diversity of produce to use in the cooking program.
