Primary School
I am delighted to announce that, due to strong interest from families wanting to join the Moama Anglican Grammar community, we will be adding a third Kindergarten class in 2025! With limited spots available in Kindergarten, and across all Primary School year levels, we encourage families to get in touch soon to secure their place for a position. If you know someone whose child will be starting Kindergarten in 2025 or someone exploring different schooling options, please feel free to share the flyers below with them. For more information, interested families can contact our Registrar at registrar@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au, call us at 03 5480 5900 or visit our website to schedule a School Tour.
Year 4 Camp
The Year 4 students had the most delightful adventure at PGL Campaspe Downs in the beautiful Macedon Ranges. Some extremely excited (and loud!) Year 4 students loaded the bus early on Day 1, and with a quick stop in Axedale, they arrived at the camp just before lunch. The cabins were ready so the students got to unpack and settle in. However, there was no time to lounge about. After a quick lunch and the allocation of activity groups, students got straight into activities that afternoon, including the Flying Fox and Sensory Trail.
Students and teachers were very impressed with dinner that night, and the students happily tucked in and learned the ropes in the dining hall, including cleaning up. The night time activity, ‘Splash,’ involved students working together and strategising, finishing with a water balloon challenge that resulted in the Groupie, Luke, getting a bit wet, much to the delight of the students!
Although a little drizzly, Day 2 involved many activities, including Archery, Aeroball, Possum Glider, and Initiatives, which the students really enjoyed. Violet scored a perfect bullseye, which gave her bragging rights for the remainder of camp! Another delicious meal was enjoyed that evening, and the students finished off with a quiz night. With some very tired children that night, the teachers were happy with uninterrupted sleep.
The last day started early with pancakes, ensuring the students were fuelled up and ready to tackle their last two activities: Bushcraft and Centipede before jumping on a much quieter bus on the way home.
We are so proud of our Year 4 cohort, whose skills shone brightly over the three days. Their energy, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills contributed to their success in teamwork, initiative, and leadership activities. Thank you to Jo Morgan, Aisha Railton, Felicity Kew, and Cindy Pedrana who supported the Year 4 students and teachers beautifully.
CIS Athletics Sydney
On Friday 6 September, 18 Primary students represented the school at the CIS Athletics in Sydney. It was wonderful to have dinner together the night before and coach Kate took the opportunity to work on relay transitions in the park after dinner, which certainly paid off the next day. For many students this was their first time competing at CIS, and they all did an amazing job. A special mention to Isabelle Barnett who won Bronze in both Shot Put and Discus; as well as our Junior Girls relay team which included Savannah Dicker, Mea Whitelegg, Tahlie Clydesdale and Evie Pell who won their heat convincingly.
Qualifying for this carnival is a wonderful achievement, and as a school we are all very proud of our students who travelled to Sydney to compete. A huge thank you to Kate Downward and Mrs Deller for assisting students with their events. For a full overview of individual student results, please visit the Co-Curricular page further in the newsletter.
NSWCIS Under-12s Cricket Trials in Sydney
Max and Ted recently took part in an exciting opportunity by representing Moama Anglican Grammar at the NSWCIS State Under-12s cricket trials in Sydney. The trials, hosted at The King's School, saw 150 talented players competing for a spot in the squad. The day was highly competitive, with Max and Ted giving their best effort. While they both narrowly missed selection this year, they gained valuable experience and look forward to trying out again in the future. We are proud of their dedication and hard work!
Tournament of the Minds (TOM)
Tournament of Minds was held at Wagga Wagga again this year, which is about the 8th year MAG has participated. Wagga Wagga was four hours away from Moama. Our journey started at 6:00am on the bus. We arrived at Sturt Public School at 10:00am, and our events were at 11:30am, and the Spontaneous challenge at 12:00pm. The other Primary group started at 12:20pm and their spontaneous challenge started at 12:50pm.
Once all the Primary and Secondary teams had finished, we went to a park close to the school for a run. After that, we went back to the school for the Presentation Ceremony to find out the results. In the end, MAG Secondary Social Sciences took home the trophy for 1st place and Secondary Arts took Tournament Honours (2nd place).
After the presentation, we stayed at the Big 4 in Wagga Wagga for the night. For dinner, the group went to Grill´d, which had amazing burgers and, on the way back to the bus, we had some delicious gelato. We went to bed in our glamourous cabins.
In the morning, we went to the biggest adventure park in regional NSW and went 10 Pin Bowling. Overall, it was a great experience staying overnight for everyone and we wish the best of luck to next year’s TOM students.

Jump Rope for Heart
The Year 5 Jump Rope for Heart Program was a great success! Thank you to all the students who got involved and presented excellent skipping routines on Jump Off Day. We have loved seeing so many smiling faces skipping in the yard before school and during recess and lunch, as well as during practise sessions. Together we raised an incredible $1,630 and this money will all go towards vital heart research and education programs. Thank you to all the families that gave generous donations toward this excellent initiative.
Stage 1 Assembly
Ms Gregory and students from 2A hosted the Stage 1 Assembly this week. All students confidently presented their learning about Length, Area, Alliteration, Similes, History of Medical Technology and Toys. There was even some alliteration writing about Mr Moon by Amelia, which made everyone laugh. We also had some Year 2 student athletes share their experience at CIS Athletics in Sydney the previous week. Wow, what an achievement! We then presented the ‘Stars of the Week’ awards to our worthy recipients.

Year 1 Music
It was a privilege to welcome guest speaker Nyree O’Connor who visited our Year 1 Music classes this week, to share her children's story, ‘A Bassoon Fairytale’. This delightful story, featuring Kye the Koala, introduced the instrument families and integrated with Nyree playing the bassoon for students during the story.
Year 1 students are currently learning about classical music and instruments of the orchestra as part of our Term 3 classroom music program. Nyree’s visit was most engaging for students and added further meaningful learning to their existing knowledge in this area.
We are incredibly grateful for Nyree’s time, sharing her unique story and demonstrating playing her impressive bassoon!
