After that, I’ve got no idea what I’ll do, but we’ll see I guess! I would like to thank my Mum for pushing me through school and encouraging me to pursue a good career and to give everything in life a crack. Thank you Mum!
My name is Charlotte Maxwell and I am enthusiastic about pursuing a career in boiler making. This career fascinates me as I’ve spent most of my childhood in the shed with my father who is a pipe welder and my biggest inspiration, this is what led me to complete a TAFE course in metal fabrication which was an experience that helped me develop essential skills and deepen my passion for the trade, making me even more eager to acquire an apprenticeship in this trade. I then spent every Friday for 18 months in the Strzelecki Engineering shed as a work placement student where I learnt to work alongside skilled tradesmen, gaining hands-on experience and valuable insights into the industry.
I am thrilled to share that I have secured an apprenticeship at Loy Yang, starting in 2025. This opportunity is a significant step for me, and I am excited to learn from experienced tradespeople. I look forward to gaining practical knowledge and honing my skills as I start this career.
I would like to thank my Dad for teaching me most things I know about this trade, my old Tafe teacher, Joe, and my boss, Paul, at Strzelecki Engineering for letting me work in such a safe and educational work environment.
Our VCE students have not completed theirs yet and will be in the next newsletter.
