Healthy Planet

As we begin another year, we continue to develop our garden. Over the school holidays, our tomatoes and cucumbers grew with the help of several staff members who came in to water them. This term, we have been harvesting and resowing our garden beds and exploring new plants to grow and methods to improve our harvest.

If you are interested in assisting with our school garden program, please contact the school office.

Through our senior elective program, Seed to Sale, we are creating a system to sell our school's produce to the community. We'll share more updates as we finalise the details. Stay tuned!!

Currently growing in the garden we have now peas, lettuces, carrots, spring onions, spinach and beetroot as well as some herb seeds being propagated for the winter. We are also looking at a late harvest of tomatoes as the warm weather continues.

In Healthy Planet, our students have been working in the sandpit to develop skills in using garden tools such as shovels, rakes, buckets, and sieves. They have also been learning how to combine sand and water to create sand castles.

We have also engaged in Clean Up Australia Day and went out into the school grounds to pick up litter and keep our school looking clean and tidy.
