Term 1, Week 3
Dear Parents and Carers,
We celebrated the new school year with Mass last Thursday with our Parish Priest Fr George. Our students participated with great reverence, our school choir sang so beautifully and a special moment was also our Prep students attending their very first school Mass. They did a wonderful job, listening attentively and engaging in the experience with such enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of all our students for the respect and spirit they demonstrated throughout the Mass. It was great to see so many of our families attend and we look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate our faith together as a community.
School Photos: School photo day is always an exciting day at school. I congratulate everyone on their efforts in ensuring their child/ren were wearing the correct uniform, let's ensure this continues throughout the year. If your child was absent, catch-up photo day will be on Monday the 17th February, please ensure your child is wearing their full summer uniform on this day.
Presentation of Class Captains: At assembly today, we presented our semester one Class Captains with their badges. Congratulations to all students, I'm sure they are going to do an amazing job this semester!
Meet and Greet: Tuesday 25th and Thursday 27th February - COMPASS is now open for bookings. The Parent Meet and Greet is a valuable opportunity for teachers and families to connect early in the year. These meetings help build strong relationships between home and school, ensuring that we work together to support each student’s learning and wellbeing. It is also an opportunity for you as parents to discuss anything you would like your child's teacher to know about your child.
Prep 2026: Hard to believe that we are already thinking about Prep enrollments for 2026. If you have a child or know anyone that has a child ready for school in 2026 I invite you to attend our Prep school tours and information session.
We believe in fostering a strong partnership between home and school to create the best learning environment for our students. One way you can actively contribute to the success of our school is by joining our School Advisory Board. Our first meeting for the year will be on Tuesday 25th March at 7 pm. If you would like to attend, please RSVP Linda Glouftsis via email: lglouftsis@olps.vic.edu.au
Our Zooper Dooper Tuesday’s has been a great success, especially with the warm weather we are having. Thank you to all our parents who have generously given up their time to help. If you would like to volunteer please complete the document below as we have a few gaps to fill. Please be aware that you will be required to have a Working with Children's check in order to volunteer. Thank you in advance for your support.

School Closure Day: Thursday 20th February. On this day our staff will be working together to discuss our school goals and gather evidence in preparation for our upcoming school review. Every four years, schools undertake a formal review process to assess and reflect on our educational practices, policies, and overall school performance. This review is an essential part of ensuring we continue to provide a high-quality learning environment for all students.
Please check the school calendar for other important dates and school events.
God Bless
