House Spirit
Mr Phan has started working with the House Spirit Captains. There are plenty of exciting initiatives planned with our House Spirit Captains. Mr Phan and the school captain will be sending out more information over the next few weeks to let you know what exciting event is up next. Next, our focus will be on shaping the SRC at Wimba.
Hello Wimba students, staff, and guardians!
I’m Nandini, one of Red House’s Vice Captains for 2025, and I’m excited to share our experience from the first House Spirit Workshop of the year.
We were working with Karen and Patrena from the House Spirit team. They shared their stories, Patrena, who loves the arts more than sports, and Karen, had a passion for drama in high school after loving sports in primary. Their experiences showed us how House Spirit can bring people together in different ways.

We kicked off with a partner activity to improve our public speaking, then moved on to making charms in our house colours, featuring our house bird. Then we learned how to create them, as we’ll be doing this activity with Foundation later this term.

To finish, we filled out profiles with our names, hobbies, and roles, which will be displayed on posters around the school. The workshop was so engaging!
I can’t wait to see Wimba’s House Spirit continue to grow. Thank you for reading and I look forward to seeing you around school.
Go Eagles!
Nandini
Student Support Group Meetings
SSG meetings will be taking place next week with Mrs Lake. These meetings provide an important opportunity for families and teachers to work together to support student learning, wellbeing, and individual goals.
If your child requires an SSG meeting, you will have received an email with the details. Please check your emails and confirm your attendance as soon as possible. On the day of your meeting, please come to the front office to sign in via Compass before heading to your meeting location. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We appreciate your partnership in supporting our students!

Elephant Ed – Puberty Education (Year 5/6)
Two sessions on Puberty and Embracing Change are now booked for Term 4, providing valuable opportunities for students to learn and navigate this important stage with confidence.
A parent information session is also scheduled for Week 1 of Term 4 to support families in having informed and open conversations at home.
Welcome to Wimba
Two new ES started with us this on Monday. Welcome Avneet and Sonika to Wimba Primary School.

Mental Health in Schools
We’re excited to share that Mr. Phan has begun training as part of the Mental Health in Primary Schools initiative. This training will further strengthen our approach to student wellbeing, equipping staff with valuable strategies to support students' emotional and social development.

School Attendance
Attending school every day is crucial for student learning, social development, and overall wellbeing. Regular attendance helps children build strong friendships, develop positive routines, and stay engaged in their learning. Research shows that students who attend school consistently achieve better academic outcomes and feel more connected to their peers and school community. If your child is unwell, we understand that rest and recovery are important. However, where possible, we encourage families to support regular attendance to ensure students don’t miss valuable learning experiences.
Lunch Time Clubs
Lunchtime clubs provide students with fantastic opportunities to explore new interests, build friendships, and stay active in a supportive environment. These clubs help foster creativity, teamwork, and wellbeing while making break times even more enjoyable!
Here’s what’s on offer each week:
Thursday: Art (Foundation-Year 2), Dance (Years 2-4)

Social Emotional Learning - Respectful Relationships
This term, students are exploring Units 1 & 2 of the Respectful Relationships program, focusing on Emotional Literacy and Personal Strengths. These lessons help students develop self-awareness, recognise and express emotions, and build confidence in their strengths. Through engaging activities, they are learning important skills to support positive relationships and wellbeing. We look forward to seeing students apply these skills in their daily interactions at school and beyond!
Thank you from your Engagement and Wellbeing Team
