Specialist Feature News - Indonesian
Selamat Siang semuanya,
Here’s a quick look at what students across the school have been up to in their Indonesian lessons recently. There’s been plenty of singing, creating, and cultural exploration happening in every year level!
Foundations
Our Foundation students have been expanding their vocabulary through song - including the catchy Topi Saya Bundar (My Hat is Round). We even made our own special topi hats! This week, students learnt to count from 1 to 5 in Indonesian - satu, dua, tiga, empat, lima -and practised saying how old they are in Bahasa Indonesia.
Years 1/2
The 1/2s have begun their new unit on Indonesian transport. We compared and contrasted transport in Indonesia and Australia, as well as other ways we’ve travelled around the world. This week we explored the becak, angkot, and bajaj, and the students had fun creating their very own becak models!
Years 3/4
Our 3/4 students are putting the finishing touches on their pen pal letters, which we’ll be sending to our sister school in Java! They look fantastic — keep an eye on Seesaw to see the final results.
Years 5/6
The 5/6s are continuing their unit on exotic Indonesian fruits. This week they practised bargaining in Bahasa Indonesia, and next week we’ll be making a delicious traditional drink — cendol! We can’t wait!
Terima kasih (Thank you) for your ongoing support!
Warm regards,
Bu Yana
