Principal's Message
Term 2 - Week 5
This week, we held our very first Storytime session for our 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten students. The event was open to both prospective and current kindergarten families, creating a wonderful opportunity for community connection and engagement.
Our little ones enjoyed a mix of stories, songs, and play. The highlight for many was exploring and spending time in our brand-new library space, which has quickly became a favourite spot for all the students at MPRPS.
Storytime was a huge success, with the kids eagerly participating and having so much fun. We’re excited to continue hosting these sessions monthly, fostering a love for reading, creativity, and social interaction among our youngest learners as they get ready for BIG school.
Work is progressing as we finalise the building project. The grass has been trimmed, and the playground has been inspected with some minor repairs being made soon. New sand has been ordered for the sandpit to ensure it’s safe and clean for the kids. The gates have now been installed, and we have received a quote to repair the car park area and new high fenc.
A few final tasks remain, including filling in gaps between the basketball court and the garden bed, as well as completing line marking. These are scheduled to be finished by early June.
Thank you for your continued support as we enhance our school facilities! We hope to hold an official opening on Monday 23rd June at 3pm on the basketball courts.

On Thursday and Friday, the annual Principal Conference was held for Principals in Whitehorse and Boorondara. Amanda and I attended the event.
One of the presenters was Dr. Jacqui Patuawa, a distinguished educational leader and researcher from New Zealand, who is known for her expertise in leadership development and school improvement. Her doctoral research focused on the quality of conversations between school leaders and teachers and how these impact student achievement. She is deeply committed to supporting school leaders in driving the best possible outcomes for all students, holding a strong belief that school improvement cannot occur without effective leadership.
Congratulations to the 16 students who participated in the Division Cross Country last Monday! Everyone did a fantastic job showing great effort throughout the race. A special congratulations to Younes for qualifying for the next stage.
