OSHClub News

Week 6
This week at OSHClub, we embraced Reconciliation Week with a wide range of meaningful and engaging activities that encouraged children to reflect, learn, and connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Our Handprint Pledge Wall was a beautiful and powerful display, and children also created vibrant Acknowledgement of Country posters and explored traditional Indigenous art forms through symbol stories and dot painting, expressing their understanding and appreciation of culture in creative ways.
We supported truth-telling and understanding through themed word searches and storytelling, while also getting active with the much-loved Emu group game. Through discussions and activities on caring for Country, children learned about land care and sustainability, reinforcing the importance of respecting and protecting our environment. In the kitchen, we got hands-on with a fun and tasty session making damper, a traditional bush bread enjoyed by many.
We also wrapped up our Science Academy for the term with a bang! Children took part in exciting science experiments that sparked curiosity and inspired wonder, celebrating a fantastic month of discovery and hands-on learning. Alongside our special Reconciliation Week focus and Science Academy, we continued to offer our regular Breakfast Clubs and Snack Squads, ensuring children had delicious and nutritious options to fuel their day. We also kept our bodies moving with a variety of physical activities, promoting health, teamwork, and fun!

We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident.
As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!
Thanks for your cooperation by notifying us of any Stay and Play absences.
