I would like to send out a huge thank you to the SPC Football Program for running a smooth and successful day on Saturday where we celebrated Reconciliation Round. Thank you to all the team captains for the Acknowledgement of Country before their fixtures and to all players for the respect that they showed.
I would like to send a shout out to the 14B Football Team who defeated the Oakhill College 14A Team, 3-1. Having a B team in the A line-up is always challenging, this victory demonstrates the hard work, determination, and skill level of our 14B Team. Well done to all involved.
Our First XI Football team will take on Cranbrook School in Round 3 of the NSWCIS Cup this Wednesday, with a 3:00 PM kick-off at Cranbrook. This is a crucial fixture for the squad, who will be looking to bounce back and secure a place in the Quarter Final. A win would see the team progress to face Northern Beaches Christian School on Thursday 5 June, with the Quarter Final scheduled for an 11:30 AM kick-off away from home. We wish the team all the best in this important cup clash.
Thank you to all the players, coaches, and staff for making Reconciliation Round such a fantastic day, especially each team captain for the Acknowledgement of Country before each fixture. It was a very successful day for the Rugby Program with the First XV, Second XV and all A teams picking up wins. Special shout out to the First XV who demonstrated huge resilience to pick up a victory on Breen Oval against a very willing St Gregory’s College First XV.
As a reminder, during home First XV home fixtures on Breen Oval, there are to be no students sitting on the far side of the oval. Further to that, it would be fantastic to have all students together in the Scientia Grandstand as opposed to spreading out around the ground. Stronger Together!
Saturday was a tough day for SPC Tennis, taking on a very strong Oakhill College team, playing against quality competition will make you stronger moving forward. Thank you to all the boys who did the Acknowledgement of Country and to all the players for the respect that they showed throughout the day. Special mention to the Eighth and Tenth IV for managing to pick up well- deserved victories.
