Spotlight on Alex: A Wonderland Reimagined
What an absolute pleasure it was to attend this year’s College production of Alex in Wonderland. The annual school play is always a highlight of the year, and once again, our students delivered a performance to remember. The Bryan Brown Theatre came alive as our young men took to the stage, showcasing their incredible theatrical talents in a magical retelling of a beloved classic.
From Alex himself to the Queen of Hearts, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, every character was brought to life with energy, humour, and heart. It was a production full of colour, creativity, and commitment—and we are truly grateful for the effort behind every moment on stage.
These performances represent the culmination of over six months of hard work and dedication. Just as athletes train to perfect their skills, our performers committed themselves to learning lines, rehearsing scenes, and fine-tuning their craft. Many gave up evenings and most Sundays this year to ensure they were ready for opening night. Their discipline and passion are truly commendable.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the behind-the-scenes team. To the students and staff who built props, managed backstage, and transitioned sets with such precision—your work may often be unseen by the audience, but it is absolutely essential and deeply appreciated.
One of the most special things about our productions is the opportunity they provide for our young men to express themselves and be celebrated for their unique gifts. This year’s play was a beautiful example of the inclusive and supportive community we are so proud to foster.
A special thank you to the staff who guided and supported our students on this journey: Ms Rebecca Duff, Ms Anita De Francesco, Mrs Jan Ovijach, Ms Lara Benham, Mr Rueben Fela, Mr Daniel Freere and Mr Raymond Basha. Your leadership and care made this production possible.
Finally, sincere thanks to the families of our cast and crew. Your encouragement, patience, and support allowed your sons to shine on stage and share their talents with the entire school community.

Theatresports Update
There has been a lot happening in performance co-curricular these last few weeks. Along with an amazing production, our Intermediate and Senior Theatresports teams have been competing in their rounds. Both teams made creative and humorous offers and played extremely well. Xavier, George, Lucas, Elias and Nicholas in the Intermediate team competed at Sydney Grammar School, while the senior team consisting of Michael, Marco, Declan and George played at Ashfield Boys High School. Although this year the teams did not make It through to the Grand Final they should be commended on how well they played and their sportsmanship.
A huge thanks to their coaches Ms D’Arcangeli, Ms Armanno and Ms Stafford for their hard work and dedication.
