Year 8 Report

Cameron Robinson

Hi Year 8 families,

Year 8 students have made a roaring start to the term!

So far this term, Year 8 students have been participating in Positive Wellbeing sessions run by Ballarat Community Health. These interactive sessions have been exploring; what is positive wellbeing, people and places that might be able to help, giving relationships the green light, being a bystander and upstander, authentic apologies.

Last Friday, all Year 8 students were lucky enough to attend a performance facilitated by performers from Melbourne Djembe. This incursion aligns with the Victorian 7-10 French Curriculum descriptor “recognise how identity is shaped by language(s), culture(s), beliefs, attitudes and values” as students look beyond metropolitan France and gain a broader understanding of the huge global French-speaking community. Students were lucky enough to use Djembe drums and dance in this interactive incursion, providing a meaningful experience for them to engage with musical cultures and the musicality of French.

Student of the week shout outs:

  • 8A: Declan Kittelty - Declan has been routinely coming to class on time and organized!
