We are all passionate about our learning and want to achieve the best we can. Our goals as School captains are to build positive community amongst peers. Shaping a safer more fun environment for all at Woodmans Hill Secondary College so that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow as a cohort.
The Year 12's have started the year of well with our Year 7 buddy system which offers numerous benefits. It fosters a sense of community and belonging, making the transition to high school smoother for Year 7 students by providing them with a mentor and a friend in the older year levels. Year 12 students also gain valuable leadership and mentoring experience, which can enhance their communication and empathy skills. This system encourages positive school culture and mutual respect across year levels, promoting a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and socially. It's a win-win for everyone involved.
Then we had our College Swimming Carnival which was a resounding success, brimming with passion and team spirit. Students from all year levels participated with great enthusiasm, cheering each other on and showcasing impressive sportsmanship. The event not only highlighted the swimming talents of our students but also strengthened the sense of community and camaraderie within the school. The engagement from both students and staff was remarkable, making the day enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved. It truly brought our school community closer together.
Our Year 12 badge ceremony was a momentous occasion, filled with pride and anticipation for the future. Held in the school auditorium, supported by the Year 7 students the event commended the achievements and hard work of our senior students as they prepare to embark on their final year. The ceremony began with a heartwarming speech from our Principal and the school leadership team. The event concluded with a group photo, capturing the unity and spirit of our Year 12 cohort.
