Year 12 Report

Claire Blower

Term 2 is in full swing, and our Year 12 students have been busy making the most of every moment—both in and out of the classroom!

In their last science class, students got stuck into making sherbet as a fun way to explore chemical reactions. They also had the chance to use the Van de Graaff generator, with plenty of laughs as they experienced the effects of static electricity first-hand.

Academically, the cohort have been working hard. With the General Achievement Test (GAT) coming up, students have been taking part in preparation sessions to get ready and ensure they are confident to complete the exam. They’ve also been putting in a solid effort across all their subjects, staying focused and working hard as the year ramps up.

Looking after student wellbeing remains important and there are some wellbeing events on the way to help students take a break and recharge. These will be a chance to relax and enjoy some time together outside of the classroom.

Assessments will be starting to become more consistent in the coming weeks, so another reminder to plan out study times, ensure you are looking after yourselves and reach out to your teachers for support. Start studying early and make use of tutoring sessions and study sessions!

Meanwhile, the Year 12 Legacy Team has been working behind the scenes on some exciting initiatives to ensure the Class of 2025 leaves a lasting impression. From creative projects to meaningful contributions, their ideas are shaping a legacy that will inspire future students for years to come.

Keep up the great work Year 12’s.
