What’s happening in our French classrooms?

Year 7 Language

In preparation for the much anticipated Quarter Finals match France/Australia, last weekend, our Year 7 students were given the task to research one particular soccer player from either team and write some information about her in French!

AHS COMPETITION: Women’s World Cup Quarter Finals: France vs Australia

In addition, the AHS French teaching team organised a whole school competition, where students could guess the score before the game to win a prize!

Congratulations to YJ in Year 11 for winning the competition and a $15 canteen voucher!

Bravo les Matildas and good luck for the next round!

Allez les Matildas!

French Binational - Science

As part of their Biology unit this term, our Year 9 FBN students have researched a system of organs from the human body, then presented its role in the body to the rest of the class. You can find out below about one of the least known body systems!

On a different topic, students have been  burning  different types of chips to determine their energy content through the thermal energy chips release when they burn. The energy released is transferred to a known amount of water and measured.

Le Club de Codage (Scratch Coding Club)

The Scratch Coding Club is a lunchtime club open to all students, speaking French or English, which aims to develop students' programming skills. Students learn how to use Scratch, a high-level block-based coding language to create stories, animations and ultimately some fun videogames. This activity also aims to prepare any students keen to participate in the annual La Nuit Du Code event. La Nuit Du Code is a video game coding competition which takes place in May every year and gathers thousands of French students from Yr6 to Yr9 all around the world.
