School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Term 3 update

Students at Hamlyn Views School have benefitted from the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) system throughout term 3.

Students have been earning Monty Money tokens, which they have been using to gain rewards and Monty Dollars that they can spend at the Monty Shop. You may have noticed students coming home with different toys or items which they will have purchased from the Monty Shop.

We also have a roaming Monty Shop trolley, which students in Secondary take around to classes across the school, so students can exchange their Monty Dollars to purchase any items from the comfort of their own classroom.

The Monty Money token system is a big part of SWPBS at HVS, as well as other practices such as providing specific positive praise and feedback. When giving praise at Hamlyn Views School, we specifically highlight the behaviour that the student is completing, and then link it to the school values of Safety, Respect, or Learning. An example of specific praise is: "Great listening! That is showing Respect :)"
