Special Days

In the routine of our weeks, it is good to sometimes remember special days or weeks that are on the calendar to help us to think outside of ourselves. Between now and next week some of the following themes will be focussed on across the state, nation and/or world:

National Science Week12th -20th August 2023

Book Week – 19th-25th August 2023 – I’m looking forward to this one at CHPS next week!

World Humanitarian Day19th August 2023

International Orangutan Day19th August 2023 – My second favourite animal!

Maybe some good dinner conversation topics?

Mobile Devices

As per our Personal Mobile Devices Policy, all mobile phones need to be turned off and handed into the General Office during school hours.  It has been pleasing to see students following this in the mornings.

We have however had events where children have been contacted by their parents or have contacted their parents via smartwatches.  Please note that any personal device connected to a cellular network needs to be disabled during school hours.  Please ensure that your children know how to do this on their smartwatches on arrival at school.

Some Uniform Reminders

As per our Uniform Policy please note that:

  • The only acceptable jewellery is stud earrings (subdued colours) or small sleepers in the ears and watches. SOS items can also be worn. This is for OHS reasons.
  • Natural hair colours only at school.
  • Hair below the shoulder must be tied up due to OHS and medical safety reasons.
  • Hair ties, ribbons and clips must be red, navy blue or white.
  • Cosmetics/Nail Polish are not to be worn to school.
  • Students are permitted to wear a scarf or gloves as part of the winter uniform. These items must be plain navy blue or red and are not to be worn in class.
