Springvale Rise Primary School Community Hub
Springvale Rise Community Hub hass been really busy this fortnight! On Wednesday the 9th of August, two big vans filled with food from Foodbank and Chobani arrived on our Springvale Campus to hold a free 'Food for Good' Market. Our school commnity was invited to collect free bags of food containing fresh fruits and vegetables, rice, milk, noodles and delicious Chobani yoghurt! It was a fantastic opportunity for our community to receive fresh food to make healthy meals and the excited looks on our students faces will make this day forever memorable for our community. We look forward to doing this again next term on the Heights Campus.
Let’s see what other fun things have been happening in Hub!
English Classes – Springvale Campus
Last week was Census Week for Community Hubs Australia, and each Hub participant had the choice to complete a form. As a class we completed the form together, as this gave the English class students an opportunity to read and understand the questions in order to answer the questions correctly.
In addition, we have also been learning about transport and this has ranged from learning about airports to buying a train ticket.
English Classes – Springvale Campus
Due to increased demand we now offer classes on:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from
9am - 11am.
Free childminding is available too.
Playgroup – Heights Campus and Springvale Campus
We have received lots of brand new toys in playgroup, including a mini food market stall. Using these types of toys for role-play encourages children to socialise with others, use their imagination and practise their English in a fun setting. We can also use this opportunity to teach children about colours, shapes, sorting and numbers. The possibilities are endless!!
Women's Friendship Group
In addition, the women in our Women’s Friendship group on Heights Campus received a large (and ver generous donation) of lots of different fabric. Working together, the women have learnt how to measure, cut, pin and sew placemats using linen fabric which the school students will be able to use during their Kitchen Garden program. We look forward to seeing their next exciting projects!
Women's Friendship Group
Wednesdays on Springvale Campus 11.30am - 1.30pm

Fridays on Heights Campus
