Highlights on Heights

I am extremely grateful and appreciative of the wonderful students, staff and families that we have at Springvale Rise Primary School. Last Monday, I was honoured to attend a special assembly where I received so many beautiful cards, surprises and flowers for Principal’s Day. Thank you to everyone - I felt very spoilt!

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Mrs Camillia Beggs who will be coming from the Springvale Campus to work in the F - 2 area as the Sub-School Team Leader (Leading Teacher). She will be working with the students and teachers in the FLC and JLC so please say hello and make her feel very welcome on the Heights Campus.

Our students have been engaging in lots of great learning this term. The JLC students have recently made Fairy Bread and completed some Procedural Writing and the FLC students were very creative with Air Clay. Mrs Cottier and I were very lucky to see some of the Foundation students amazing artwork!

The SLC students have had a positive and successful swimming program over the last eight days. I was fortunate to visit on the last day and got to see our students playing some games and demonstrating their life-saving skills in the water. A big thank you to Mrs Wendy Griffiths for all her organisation with the buses and the Noble Park Swimming Pool which ensured our SLC students could enjoy such a wonderful experience.

Did you know that we have Lunchtime Clubs on Heights Campus? There are lots of choices throughout the week such as sports,  (basketball, volleyball and soccer), colouring clubs, lego building and loom band club. Encourage your child to come and join in the fun . . .  they might even make a new friend!

School Crossing and Road Safety

Just a reminder to please follow the road rules when dropping students off at school. There are traffic signs that show where you can and cannot stop to drop students off, especially near school crossings. Also be aware that you cannot pull into our neighbours driveways, and drop students off. On Amiel Street, there area also areas where you cannot park on the opposite side of the school. Nor can you pull up beside another car in the middle of the road and get your child to run out onto the road. This is not safe for the children or other drivers!! Please note that Road Safety Officers are monitoring the roads around our school (and other schools in the City of Greater Dandenong) more regularly.  Please do the right thing to keep our students safe (and you will avoid a fine). Thank you.
