Principal's message

Hi Families,

Over the past 10 days our students have had a hectic schedule at Alvie PS. We have had our Indonesian Concert, Learning through Lunch at the Gordon for Yr4-6, Book Week Parade and the first week of our 10 Pin Bowling program. Over the next few weeks we have a whole school author visit (with other small schools) to Colac Secondary College/Colac Library, Pete Cromer hosting a workshop for 9 students as well as our P-2 Evening/Sleepover. It is going to be a busy busy last few weeks of term.

Change to Parking areas

Due to a recent incident, we are changing our Pick Up and Drop Off routines. As of this coming Monday (28/08) can all families please ONLY utilise the Car Park for all Pick Ups and Drop offs. Buses will be the only vehicles to access the turn-around area each morning and afternoon. When collecting and dropping of children, please ensure you utilise the track in front of the chooks/lambs and cross the road at the Zebra Crossing. Many thanks in your support of this change to ensure the safety of all our children.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey

This is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We'd love you to hear from you- if you have a spare 20mins can you please complete.  click here

Breakfast Club

We are in need of more volunteers to help support Breakfast Club. Our current Term 3 timetable is below. Ideally, we would like 2 volunteers for each morning and to run it 5 days a week. If you have a morning free, we'd love your support. The volunteer time is roughly between 8:20-9:10am. Please be in touch if you'd like to support.

Learning through Lunch

Our Yr4-6 students recently visited The Gordon, Geelong to view a range of potential industries and future educational opportunities. Our Yr4-6 students will participate in a second Learning through Lunch at the RACV Torquay resort in late October.
