Careers

Kara Rysave

On Thursday 22nd 18 students completed their White Card Training at school.

These impressive young people can now enter a construction site and go on work experience (or future employment) in a range of industries including electrical, mining and bricklaying.

Ballarat Group Training provided the trainer and assessor and he noted that our students

were “a great bunch of kids”. Great work.

 Careers News

VET Students:

This year we have almost 30 VET students enrolled in various Registered Training Organisations doing their certificate courses. Courses range from Certificate II in Automotive to Certificate III in Community Services. We also have a number of Year 10 students enrolled in VET courses this year.

SBAT (School Based Apprenticeships):

Congratulations to Amelia Bennetts who has received a SBAT in Childcare and Jaykeb Douglas who has received a SBAT in Engineering Fabrication. Thanks to HEADSTART for supporting our students with these amazing opportunities.

Year 10s are preparing for work experience on the week of March 18-22. Students have been wonderful in showing initiative and confidence in researching and contacting their potential employers. Work experience is such a valuable opportunity for our students to gain knowledge and confidence working in industry and business. One of the most positive aspects of work experience is finding out what you DON’T want to do for the rest of your life. Some students might gain part time work or even a referee for their resume. Keep working on getting those signed forms back and feel free to come to the Careers office in the senior school if you need help.
