Year 7 STEAM Program Update

The year 7 STEAM students are currently working through a unit called “See Me Grow”. So far, students have been developing an understanding of soil health. Additionally, they have learned about pollination and associated insects. They used this learning in week 5 to develop their own artistic sprout houses, decorated with illustrations of Australian insect pollinators such as blue banded bees and paper wasps.

Our Year 8 STEAM class have been investigating how advances in ai technology can impact society and the ethical dilemmas their use can create. Most recently they were considering the purposes of AI avatars and developing their own creative avatar designs to suit specific target audiences and purposes. As the term progresses, the class will develop graphic design skills to convey their personal take on selected ethical dilemmas relevant to the integration of these new technologies in the human experience.
